Rafts on West Fork and main Hood from 5 to 8 feet (8 feet on the West Fork can be doable during snowmelt time). 5 feet is the very lowest for rafts on the West Fork and 5.75 is a low, bumpy flow. 6+ feet is optimal. 7 feet is pushy and continuous (East Fork was low this day). Rain makes the West Fork higher and snowmelt makes the East Fork higher.

Lower Hood is very continuous but also washed out at 8.7 feet.

West Fork of the Hood

4.5 feet is a great, fun level and fairly straightforward. The West Fork at 5.5 feet on this gauge is about 7.3 feet at Tucker Bridge. At these flows the river is pretty continuous and non-stop Class IV. Pretty straightforward moves but paddlers want to be solid.
