Difficulty: Class III
The Hood River makes a great full or half day trip for paddlers of all abilities and ages. It has plenty of Class II rapids with a few Class IIIs thrown in to make it exciting! You may even get a glimpse of Mount Hood while you’re on the river. Our trip ends in town just a few blocks from wine tasting and microbreweries.
Difficulty: Class IV
The White Salmon is the classic summer rafting trip near Hood River. The rapids are mostly Class III with a few Class IVs along the way. The White Salmon is known for it’s clear glacial water and beautiful, narrow canyon.
Difficulty: Class IV+
The West Fork is perhaps the best rafting trip in the Columbia Gorge. It flows through two narrow basalt canyons full of steep, challenging rapids. The tricky part with the West Fork is catching it when the flows are in the optimal range. We only run the West Fork a handful of times each year.
Difficulty: Class V
The Wind is the most challenging whitewater river near Hood River and is a good trip for an athletic group looking for a true challenge. We train on the Wind River all winter long and look forward to sharing this challenging section of whitewater with you.
