Bhutan with NWRC

I went to Bhutan with NWRC in November 2016. Bhutan, twice the size of New Hampshire, became a nation in the early 1900’s, opened its borders in the 70’s and allowed TV in 1999. It is a reverent, observant and seemingly content society that is so different from anything in our day to day metrics. All this in the dry season in the Himalayan hills. Zach and NWRC have thoughtfully considered what is possible to do and see in two weeks. Zach leads groups with cheer, attention and with understated expertise. This is my second trip with him and he sets the bar.

Happiness and Adventure rolled into one!

Every step and stroke of the paddle exploring the beauty and magic of Bhutan was something I’ll never forget! The combo of adventure running the rapids of 4 rivers combined with the cultural discovery - from Big Buddha to the Paro Dzong to hiking to Taksang Monastery - it's all amazing! Zach and Michael and Karma were always making sure we were happy and taken care of. Thank you for all the work to make every day seamless and smooth. Taking a few extra days was a huge bonus and I can't wait to return. Bhutan is a unique place and this trip will enhance your own ‘gross national Happiness’!

World Class Outfitter and Amazing Trip

Many years ago I worked for a different adventure outfitter, so I have the perspective of a former guide and now guest. I've gotta say, NWRC knows how to put together an AMAZING trip. The professionalism, communication, safety and attention to detail NWRC dedicates to every trip is unparalleled. Our guides deep knowledge and passion to share Bhutan's rich culture was a testament to the country's Gross National Happiness. Pairing this cultural knowledge with the skills and ability to help us navigate the beautiful rivers added some thrilling adventure to an already awe-inspiring trip. If this trip wasn't already on your bucket list, it should be now :)

I could not possibly recommend this trip more highly. Bhutan is as close to Shangra-La as you can get. Rafting/kayaking its rivers is natural bliss. NWRC is both super well organized and prepared for spontaneity. Want to try archery? Traditional bamboo bow and arrow coming up. Forgot the long sleeve shirt you need to get into the temple? Zach will give you the shirt off his back. Birding book you brought not up to snuff? Zach's got the one. Super awesome trip. I'd raft down any river with NWRC.

World class operation. I'm sure that any guest of NWRC will say the same. I was a client, but feel I have extra insight, as I'm a river guide, and have been for 30 years. I've worked for many companies, in many places: however rarely have I seen such a classy operation run in such an ethical manner as I did on this trip. It's obvious Zach and his crew of US guides love Bhutan, and obvious that they and their local guides/drivers/staff have bonded. Great country and people, and a great team to see it with.

This was an incredible foray into the Bhutanese Buddhist lore of centuries past and century present. The richness of the culture, people and a new democracy that truly values happiness was transformative. This trip was remarkable for the flexibility offered - if group members expressed an interest in something, we were able to explore those interests. The support crew, lodging, food all wonderful. Our cultural guides incredible.

The trip with NWRC was fantastic. Our whole group, the guides, the drivers, the fellow guests were all kind, sharing, supportive, flexible, and fun loving. The food and lodging were great. We had lots of little adventures to seldom seen places and wonderful interactions with the friendly Bhutanese people. And the guides are all so cute, we just wanted to take them home and squeeze them. Go to Bhutan -- you'll be glad you did.

This trip was top notch in every way. Experiencing the people and culture of Bhutan was transformative. And then, NWRC put together a fantastic adventure. The rafting and hiking were excellent. The group leaders took the interests of the group into consideration and planned accordingly. The guides were experienced and competent. Food and lodging were great. I was only sad the trip wasn't twice as long.

I cannot thank NW Rafting enough to have made this trip possible. It’s very challenging, it can be raw and in the moment, but I feel very lucky to have experienced something that very few have. The team has endless energy, pure talent and love for their profession and an all out respect for the area. I personally would do this trip again in a heartbeat but just know you will really have to work for it. The bruises and blisters are still healing a week later...

Upper Chetco

★★★★★
5 5 1
Just finished the upper Chetco with Zach and the gang. If you are looking for a true wilderness adventure and you are willing to earn it, this trip might be for you. If you are looking for just a typical river trip down a new river, this trip is definitely not for you. The Chetco is a hybrid between a mountain climb, a back packing trip, and a river trip. You will want to be in good physical shape to carry the 60+ lb. pack 10 miles to the river. The beginning of the hike is relatively flat with a few moderate climbs, but the real fun starts when you begin the 2000' descent into the canyon. If you have bad knees, unfamiliar with a heavy pack, or are over 40, you will definitely want hiking poles. Throw in a few blisters along with the heavy load and you and your legs will be having a serious discussion by the time you reach camp as to who's idea was it to go on this crazy trip. You are carrying all your gear in and this is where the trip is more like a back packing trip. You will sleep in your boat and put up a tarp if it rains. I thought the meals were great relative to back packing standards. No steaks on the grill! When you get to the river, this is where all your hard work pays off. The water clarity on the Chetco is in a league of its own. You can easily see the bottom 25' down with an emerald green tint from the rocks. The rapids are continuous. Don't worry because you will still get your exercise because you may have to push, pull, or drag your boat in some spots. I found myself occasionally looking upstream to see if anyone was coming down river, there is nobody coming. You are in a remote wilderness and you have the place to yourself. Another good reason to be in shape for this trip in case something would go wrong. Zach and his guides do an awesome job with this trip. They know the river and they know how to take care of their guests. Your biggest concern should be your physical ability. Our trip started with clear skies and temps in the upper 80's and ended with pouring rain and temps down in the 50's. One day due to the conditions, lunch was a cliff bar. You need to be able to laugh and joke when things are not perfect. The Chetco is a one of a kind place and we are lucky that someone had the foresight to protect this river. I hope you get a chance to experience this amazing place and when you tell someone you've been down the Chetco, you will know you have earned it!

Lower Chetco July 2016

Chetco July 2016 What a novel adventure! The Chetco, a river that many people have never heard of, runs out of the seldom visited Kalmiopsis Wilderness as a small, crystal clear river in a narrow valley. We traveled down the river for three days in inflatable kayaks, weaving around giant boulders, shooting through small chutes and sometimes dragging the kayaks across shallow riffles. No one else was on the river and there were many choice campsites along deeper pools that encouraged swimming at the end of the day. It was a unique experience, unlike any of the other well known river trips in Oregon.

Having lived in Oregon thirty years, I'd only explored the Kalmiopsis wilderness briefly. The Lower Gorges of the Chetco trip appealed greatly . Unlike the Upper stretch, there is no 10 mile hike to the put-in and is quite a bit less of a commitment in terms of time, money & energy. I was concerned that experiencing the river at low flow in an IK would not be much fun for someone with extensive river experience. NWRC has put together a very fun 3 day outing along the Chetco "Gorge" at the boundary of the Wilderness area. The guides were safe, capable and enthusiastic. Gear was top notch and logistics were smooth. The whitewater was fun in the IKs. I am now keen to do the upper stretch; even the hike in! I strongly recommend this trip to anyone looking to explore a little known area of Oregon.

The best way to get to Troy, Oregon is via NWRC floating the Grande Ronde from Minam. Why? It is an unforgettable four days and three nights of pure enjoyment in an unique, changing environment that is visually and viscerally rewarding. The topping for the trip were our guides, Brodie and Emily. Not only are they excellent on the oars, their comradery, camp setup and food even made the daily rain fun! Do watch out for Emily, she is a card shark and Brodie's luck is boundless. On our trip, the water was high and running fast. Emily and Brodie were very mindful of our safety as well as comfort. Their awareness of the surroundings, spotting Big Horn Sheep and exploring adjoining creeks were an added bonus. On the final day I experienced running the river in an inflatable kayak called a ducky. What a hoot!! Couldn't wipe the smile off my face if you tried. Highly recommend the Grande Ronde float and a walk across the bridge to Troy! Thanks NWRC and especially Emily and Brodie.

Just got off a fantastic 4-day float with Zach and his crew. What a gorgeous river! The water is so clear, you can see to the bottom most of the time. The rapids were technical and tricky, but the guides make it look easy, even the Class fours and the Class five. Green Wall is a rush, but not the only rush; there are many great rapids every day. We saw lots of birds, including water ouzels (the rafters friend), and enjoyed a couple of great hikes with the guides; Zach took us on one hike high above the river to where the Kalmiopsis and the Pitcher plants were growing. The plants and the view were all marvelous. The camps were great and the food was too. The crew is fun to be with, and are competent and thoughtful in every way. This is a great company to go down a river with; everything was first-class, and I am so glad I got to go with them.

Just got off the Illinois River (4/18) with NWRC. I've been on 5 rivers and the Illinois is the best and provides the best rapids and the greatest number in the 34 miles. NWRC provided great and quite new equipment. Good cooking and good crew/guides with lots of experience and personality. The owner, Zach, joined us and demonstrated his desire to make the trip for his customes the very best. Great scenery with no crowds like some of the other rivers. The camps were clean and usable with the exception that this 77 y/o male found the trips to the "facility" dangerous and unnecessarily challenging (I hope management can figure out a better system for this issue). I highly recommend this company and this river. one caveat, we were very fortunate to have sunny warm weather for the entire trip, typical April weather in southern Oregon may not be as user friendly but the beauty of the scenery and the challenge of hte river would likely make up for any climate challenges. I had the awesome privilege of getting on one of NWRC's first commercial trips down the Illinois River in southern Oregon, and it was one for the books. Zack and Xander are camping/cooking/guiding wizards. Not only did they show us the best lines and most incredible camp sites, they had fascinating stories about the river--the unique geology, the history of its designation under the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act, and the low-down on the still unexplored parts of the Kalmiopsis Wilderness. The food was amazing--who has ever heard of getting to enjoy pineapple upside-down cake in the heart of an isolated wilderness run?--and to top it all off, Zack brought a waterproof dry bag for my guitar case, which meant I got to kick back at the campfire each night and play my guitar! Sure, I could have done the Illinois as a self-support trip and packed my kayak full of gear, but thanks to Zack and company, I got enjoy the wilderness in comfort and style.

I absolutely loved our trip down the Illinois. The scenery and water quality was outstanding. We saw two black bears, many eagles and herons, but no ther boaters. Even though Zach and crew provided raft support, the remoteness of the river demanded we, as kayakers, make good decisions about which rapids to run. But the best part was off the river where Zach and crew chose great campsites and cooked the most delicious meals I've ever had while kayaking. Thanks so much, NWRC for providing a great experience.

Fabulous trip! The Illinois River is remote and beautiful. We saw no other souls between put-in and take-out. The whitewater is challenging and fun (at ~1900 cfs). I felt confident and comfortable riding/paddling a raft guided by NWRC through Class IV-V rapids. Food was plentiful and delicious. Guides were personable and interesting people. This trip completely lived up to my expectations. Thanks Zach and NWRC!

Audrey's fabulous geology talk was the trip highlight for me! She also was super fun in leading activities at camp. Brodie gave great tips as I learned to maneuver the IK, Mel was a fabulous cook and all around fun person at camp, Courtney was a great leader and so good with Stone and the kids in our group. We didn't get to ride with Dustin but enjoyed our talks at camp and he was a good fishing coach. MacKenzie was great fun at camp and even brought up cool drinks from camp and met us on our hike.

Unplugging and letting go were the two issues I had with leaving the world (work) behind and stepping into the paddle boat. However, once I stepped (slipped and fell actually) into the paddle boat, my mind instantly let go of the pressures of the world and enjoyment seeped into my core. There wasn't a fraction of a moment where I wished to be anywhere but with this group of people, on this river, with these guides. Calmly and thoroughly explaining every next step gave each of us confidence in our direction. Making every moment enjoyable was second nature to NickO, Allie, Dan, Audrey, Mel & Zach. In every description of every move there was a certainty that we all embraced. Positive reinforcement helped us all reach a higher level of proficiency whether we were in a paddle boat or a kayak. From "Coffee Call" in the morning until the last ember of the campfire died at bedtime, each guest on this trip felt pampered and was treated with the utmost respect. Vegetarian and dairy free diets were supplied and the options were as creative and appealing as the main course. Lunch was always spectacular, eating by the river while we discussed our morning escapades. Reaching camp was always a delight as the guides helped up set up our tents (they were happy to set them up without us, but we enjoyed trying to help so they graciously allowed us to assist). While we were unpacking they would bring drinks around and quickly set up snacks so we had munchies while we waiting for a 5 star dinner every night. Dutch oven desserts were magnificent. Beautiful hikes to hot springs and engaging vistas greeted us at our overnight locations. Swimming (and being rescued by NickO and Zach) was refreshing and became my second extreme sport on this outing. I would have to say my favorite spot was in the paddle boat(my first extreme sport). Our group consisted of 5 adults in their 20's and one 58 year old(me). We asked each guide to hit as many rapids as possible, to make this as wet and wild as possible and they did just that. At one point the other guides were telling us it looked like we were zigzagging down the river! We never felt like we were in danger, the guides called out the strokes and we felt like a well oiled machine. All the while, we were also having fun watching the kayakers and seeing the rush that they feel on the rapids. The entire group encompassed guests from the age of 27 to 76 and everyone enjoyed themselves immensely. From the scenery, to the wild water, to the knowledgable engaging guides, to the flexible atmosphere, to the perfect weather, sumptuous healthy food, interesting fellow rafters/kayakers, and an impressive 2am thunderstorm there would be absolutely no way I could improve upon our experience. I look forward to booking this trip or going on one of NWRC's other trips in the near future.

The MF of the Salmon Trip that I did this year with NWRC (ECHO) was the best trip I have ever been on. I have been on many river trips since I started boating in 1967 but none of them compare with this – it was perfect! I intend on going on many more NWRC trips. For those of us that are older, do not want the hassles of a private trip or just want the best possible trip, I strongly recommend going with NWRC. I rowed my14’ Avon raft with a RecreTec frame built for my 5’2” height. Zack was very helpful coordinating with me to get my raft and other equipment to the river. I was a little uncertain of my ability to keep up with the professional guides on flat water or if there where heavy upstream winds. At 67, I am not as strong as I used to be. I had no problems rowing any of the rapids. Going with NWRC I did not have to worry about carrying any gear so I had a light boat. I had a professional guide, NickO, that could take over for me if I had any problems. I managed to talk my friend Arthur Swank into coming with me. Between Arthur, NickO and the other guides I did not worry about anything. For the first time that I can remember, I totally relaxed on a trip. In the evenings I could just sit by the river and enjoy the peace that river brings to me. I did not even look at my guide book. The incredible / professional guides that NWRC (ECHO) has made every aspect of the trip fun / safe / easy. I have worked as a guide in California in the ’70 and have seen many guides on different rivers over the years. It is not nearly as easy to put organize and lead a trip as many people think. I have been on 10 Grand Canyon trips – 9 private – trip leader on 5 or 6 so I know how hard it is to do a good job. The guides and their organization and expertise impressed me. I have never seen a trip that was so well coordinated / organized in my 49 years of boating. I have never seen a group of guides as good as the ones we had on this trip. The flow of the different boats down the river was almost like a dance that they had practiced many times. With a combination if different oar rafts, paddle rafts, inflatable kayaks and a totally unknown rafter of unknown ability it is very difficult to maintain proper distance between boats, support between the different elements for safety, a safety sweep boat and have everyone enjoying themselves totally unaware of how much expertise, experience and coordination this takes. The way the river side of the trip was run was extremely safe without getting in the way of everyone having the experience of a lifetime. The food was 4 star. I am a little hard to fix meals for but there was plenty I would eat at every meal. There was fresh fruit at every meal – pineapple, apples, oranges, etc. The cakes, brownies and other things they baked and fixed were delicious – even the salads. Getting me to eat a salad 4 nights was a remarkable achievement. The schedule to me was relaxing and unhurried. We got up between 6:30- 7:00 am depending on if you wanted coffee and how long it took you to pack up. Arthur normally took my tent down although the guides would do that also. I would pack my gear into my dry bag and have a relaxing breakfast. It did not take long to eat - I never felt hurried. Arthur and NickO would get me and my dry bags down to the boats. The baggage boat tried to leave earlier than the other boats so you needed to get your baggage down early. I do not know how the guides managed to fix breakfast, clean up, break camp and load the boats in the same time it took the rest of us to eat and get ready. We would stop for lunch and everything would be ready in less than 30 min. Many days there were special items that had been prepared the night before. We would pull into camp in the afternoon and everything was set up – kitchen, tents, groover. Never thought that I would be on a trip were they even set my tent up. People relaxed, socialized, played games, etc. until dinner. Dinner was early enough that people had time to get to know others before going to bed. This is important. If dinner is too late, people will not sit and talk afterwards. These evening gatherings pull the group together. The people get to know each other and it enriches the experience. I now wish that I had gotten to know others better – that I had joined in more group gatherings. I was having such an incredible trip that I just sat by the river and dreamed the time away. This was the most incredible, wonderful, perfect, peaceful, enjoyable, fun trip I have ever had. I feel like rivers talk to me. Boating has been an obsession for me for 48 years. It is my life. The trip on the Middle Fork of the Salmon with NWRC (ECHO) has brought light into my life. It brought peace back into my life. I cannot thank them enough for letting me come. I am not too old to boat!

Well, I lied, as our family goes skiing every year, BUT this is the only other trip out of our travels that we have put in "Must Repeat" category. We just took our 2nd of "X", with X being as many as we can do over the next 30 years! I have obviously enjoyed my time on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River and NWRC, but the real memories and experiences I will always value are watching my 7 year old son and 10 year old daughter (10 and 13 on this recent trip) navigate class III and IV rapids in their inflatable kayaks, help out in camp, climb incredibly tall things (and sometimes jump off them) and grow their self-confidence to 2X their pre-trip levels (which were not low). The food is insanely good and creative and nothing you would expect on a river. The tents and cots are very comfortable, even for my bad joints, and the camp sites or fun and beautiful. AND the guides are incredibly talented people that we will always remember as friends and look forward to seeing again. I recommend this trip more than any other I have taken to my friends as a "MUST TAKE" trip. Hope y'all make it out, too. - Angus

The MF Salmon is a great river! The clear water & swift current sweep you along beautiful Alpine scenery. The river cuts through the rugged ID mountains with many feeder streams adding to it along the way, some of which form breathtaking waterfalls. Wildlife abounds! One night in camp we watched a family of otters playing just across the river. The guides were great! Friendly & personable, with sure knowledge of the river and rapids to come. They told us what to expect in the upcoming rapids and they handled the boats with skill & precision. They informed us of the history of the river & the native people who lived there. One night Audrey gave an hour long lecture over dinner about the geology and creation of ID that was so entertaining & engaging that you couldn't not learn. After an enjoyable day on the river, we'd pull into camp to find our tents set up & bags laid out. There would be a circle of chairs & games set out for us. There were snacks prepared. One or two of the guides would lead a hike to a nearby hot springs or viewpoint, while the rest prepared an excellent dinner. They made a lasagna one night, in the wilderness, on the side of a river, that may be the best I've ever had! The whole experience was truly a delight! I highly recommend NWRC & MF Salmon to all!

My wife, several friends and I have run the MF Salmon river with NWRC (Echo) around 10 times and it has always been an amazing experience. The guides are the best. NWRC is very flexible and accommodating. We are a group that takes our own kayaks and catarafts along with other family and friends who run the river in NWRC rafts. The management and the guides are very easy to communicate with, very professional, positive and passionate about what they do. The meals are a culinary delight. The extra side hikes and visits to various very interesting sites increase an already incredible experience on the river. The MF Salmon River is an amazing place and NWRC makes it readily accessible and is a catalyst for a truly memorable experience - one that you will not forget.

This is a wild trip. Not only does the river's swift water challenge the most experienced paddler, the canyonlands overwhelm one's senses with their color, sheer size, and deep geologic history. As you float the cold water, you are transported into Oregon's purest wilderness. Each night is spent under the darkest night skies in the Lower 48 States which afford the tired paddler the rare opportunity to unplug from society and tune into the sacred Owyhee channel.

Weather conditions may be all over the map but the beauty and isolation of the canyon in remote southeastern Oregon is the perfect escape from a topsy turvy over-connected world. The crew kept us well fed, prepared for weather, lodged at ideal campsites, ready with lunch, cocktails, hor d'oeuvres, games and laughter. The hikes and hot springs were stellar! Despite knowing one of the guides prior to the trip, and having my high expectations exceeded in every respect while on the trip, I want to credit the guides (ALL of them) for making a really challenging weather system relatively inconsequential. Despite heavy rain and wind, snow, and extremely high and fast water, the guides all handled the challenge with grace and good humor. They went above and beyond to ensure the less hardy guests were comfortable as possible, and could experience the incredible trip fully. On the fly adaptations/decisions about camp spots and trip timing were thoughtfully made, and the group dynamic blossomed as if it were all t-shirt days on the river. Every guide shared what they love about the experience of rafting/paddling whether on the river or in camp--and I felt as if I could not have picked better company.

They were spectacular in every sense - as guides on the river; explaining things about what we were seeing; engaging with people of all ages; and they were phenomenal with our group of 7 kids both on and off the river. It made it a spectacular trip for all of us. I was quite concerned for the four other adults on our trip who were not part of our group, that they would not feel overwhelmed by our kids, and I think that the way that the guides kept both the kids super engaged and also were respectful of the other adults helped. I can't speak highly enough of them.

I knew I would have a great time on this trip, but it still managed to far exceed my expectations. The scenery is breathtaking. The river is a perfect mix of semi-challenging rapids, flowing water and languid floating-- I only felt calm and excitement, never danger. The guides were friendly, knowledgable, helpful and very skilled. And as if all that weren't enough, the food was amazing! I highly recommend this trip to all river lovers of any skill level.

You guys made our honeymoon incredible!

We especially loved Daniel, Thomas, and Chuck. Emma and I bonded about doing Cherry Creek. It was a perfect intro rafting trip for my wife Jeanine. She ended up loving the ducky and was able to get enough time on one. I, of course, stayed in a ducky the whole time and was super happy that I paid extra to reserve one. Thanks so much Zach for running such an incredible company and for having such great guides (and food). Hopefully Jeanine and I can do the Middle Fork of the Salmon River with you guys in the next year or two.

Made our trip absolutely perfect!

What an absolute pleasure to be on the river with such an amazing crew and wonderful group of people. The trip was beyond expectations in every way. The scenery was beautiful, the water was incredible, wildlife was abundant, and the people were great company. I haven’t laughed that much in awhile. Looking forward to another trip in the future!

My 3rd Rogue River Trip with NWRafting, and altho the first 2 were quite different, this was the perfect one for my great nephews Rowan and Gavin (ages 9 & 11). The guides were fun loving and superb, the food fantastique, and the overall trip one the boys and I will never forget. Not to mention the truly great group of other rafters. You will all be missed.

All of the guides were A+! They each had a unique set of knowledge and skills that they freely shared about the river, wildlife or sights along the way. Very impressed with their work ethic and care for their guests and the environment. I would highly recommend Northwest Rafting to anyone interested in booking a trip on the rivers that they run. Professional, knowledgeable and fun guides and staff! They are the best.

We just returned from a 4 day rafting trip on the Rogue with Chuck, Thomas, Nick and Aaron - what an absolutely amazing trip! The views were breathtaking, we saw amazing wild life - bears with their cubs, eagles and Osprey catching fish. Our awesome guides were super fun, respectful of the river and inspirational in leaving no trace. We hope to return next year on the Rogue or middle fork with this company. Bravo all!

We loved the trip. Our reasons for going: my husband loves the outdoors my brother-in-law had done a similar trip and loved it we wanted to get unplugged The trip did all of that and more. We didn't know we'd end up adoring our guides who were fantastic. John, Dustin, Zev, Thomas ...and especially our lead guide, Emily who had such a positive attitude, but also got down to business whenever it was required. We loved the food, the company and the beautiful outdoors. It was a bonding experience that we won't forget and now want to come back for more.

Great trip, just go!

This was the fifth year we have run the American Whitewater trip with Northwest Rafting Company. I was impressed by the professionalism of staff on the first trip and it just keeps getting better! Being able to accommodate a diverse group of boaters paddling all types of different craft is a unique skill in outfitted trips. You guys do this real well and it makes for a wonderful experience on one of our countries first Wild and Scenic Rivers. If you are considering this trip, all I can say is go. If you wait you’ll just be another year (or two) older when you do.

What a great trip!

My adult son and I just returned from our first trip down the Rogue. It was a memorable, stunning experience. The crew is fun, courteous, expert river guides and great cooks. They went over and above to accommodate my food restricted needs. The food was delicious and there was always a healthy choice. Emily, our river leader, was a true 'wonder woman'. Thank you NWRC!

We had a fantastic time and it was as I expected and hoped it would be: the rafting was fun and provided some challenges but was something that everyone on the trip could enjoy, our guides were a great balance of professional and knowledgeable as well as warm and accessible, and the campsites and food were really great. (Thanks John you are a fantastic river chef!) I loved that my 14 year old could have independence paddling his own ducky under the guide's direction and I was free to enjoy the river as well. Our favorite part was sleeping under those amazing stars. We would definitely do this again!

Zac, I would again like to than you for providing such an awesome rogue river experience last week. From your incredible guides, the amazing food that was prepared, (excellent coffee), side excursions, and the overall mindset and laid back feel of the trip, you could not have improved anything. We have not stopped talking about the experience. We have had several neighbors get our feedback on the trip, and I will be very surprised if you don't get some whitefish bay wisconsin guests in the next year. Thanks again and keep up your incredible company!

Another great experience!

After having such a great time on the Salmon River last year, we had to try the Rogue this summer. What a great experience, yet again! NWRC really is such a great company! We cannot recommend this company enough. Great job, Zach and Co.

Thank you for an amazing experience. This was a birthday gift for my 10 year old boy from Grammy. All 3 of us had such an incredible time that we are discussing next year's trip with the rest of the family. My boy said "this trip changed me. I don't need wifi anymore." (let's see how long that lasts, lol). I get to run a university outdoor program full-time and I can say in my professional opinion, this experience was as great as it gets. The guides, food, equipment were absolutely the best. Although I have been "in the business" for over 20 years, I finished the trip with a load of notes and new gear list. I'm so looking forward to the next adventure with NWRC!

We are just returning from the family trip of a lifetime. Northwest Rafting Company sets the stage for such a great adventure , delicious meals, safe and fun river time and totally playful camp time. The guides do a top notch job of making everyone feel satisfied and the children calling for more and more. All of the kids got along and had a blast playing with the guides which gave the adults some valuable hours of settling in and enjoying some personal space. Well done over and over again Northwest Rafting Company. You have the best family trips ever. We returned home planning our next family rafting trip with you and your wonderful team. Thank you!

The Rogue River offers a delightful step away from the often-hectic elements of our daily lives. The beauty of the river itself, the canyon, and the wildlife/vegetation of the region offer a breath of fresh air and calmness. The NWRC guides enhance the trip with their expertise at the oars, information about the area, awesome cooking and camping skills, and joie de vivre that is very contagious! SUPER trip!! Looking forward to another opportunity to join NWRC for a trip!

There's something special about the Rogue... years of boating, and its SO hard to beat! Really needing a reset? The Rogue. Seeking star gazing time? The Rogue. Want to feast your eyes on foliage, experience osprey, watch bear? The Rogue. Ready to learn the ins and outs of whitewater? The Rogue. Or better yet, if you want bonding, ab-wrecking-laughter, and full-belly-food-comas, Northwest river guides will serve it all up (while filling you in on every morsel of natural history and every ridiculous joke in between). Book a trip. You won't regret it. Promise.

This trip was a wonderful way to connect with my son and spend quality time together. I would not hesitate to book another trip and I encourage my friends who express the slightest interest in this type of vacation to check out Northwest Rafting and the trips they offer!

The guides take care of everything, you need not lift a finger, or get your hands wet paddling and developing your rafting skills. The guides are amazing and will provide you with a unforgettable experience.

Serenade Rafting Trip

A River, a HUGE pot and a Banjo

★★★★★

NWRC's Serenade Rafting Trip gets it right in so many ways. First, the Rogue - wild, peaceful, and picturesque. Then the food - oysters on the half shell, Kobe Beef, smokey vegetables, cast iron crock desserts - all amazing at a restaurant but several notches above when served riverside. Add a dash of Austin and Jenner on the banjo and guitar by the fire or floating down the river and life is really looking good. All of this is wrapped in a seamless and flawlessly operated rafting company with the most pleasant and skilled guides to be met on a river anywhere. Kaela and Austin (Serenade), Jaret and Joe (Tournant), Jenner Fox (musician, guide and baby carrot advocate) Susan Fox (Bonus Yoga) and NWRC Crew - you pulled together a brilliant maiden Serenade voyage - can't wait for the next one. - Andre and Jodi K - Middleburg, VA
