Online Rowing and Rescue Schools

We put together these online whitewater courses so that high-quality river education is accessible to everyone regardless of location, schedule, or budget. While we love seeing  students in our Class III Rowing Schools and Class IV Rowing Schools we know that a 4 or 5 day course isn’t always possible.

These courses follow the same technical curriculum and philosophy we teach in our in-person schools and they allow you to learn at your own pace, focus on the things you want to learn, and repeat lessons as often as you want.

Whitewater Rowing Course

This is our flagship digital program and the most thorough online guide to rowing rafts ever produced. We cover everything from boat rigging and basic strokes to whitewater rescue. This course is good for:

• Beginners needing a foundation to start whitewater rowing
• Experienced rowers wanting to fill gaps in their education
• Someone rowing all or part of the Grand Canyon

Basics of Whitewater Rowing

This is an abbreviated version of our full Whitewater Rowing Course to get you started. This course is good for:

• Someone considering learning to row whitewater
• A passenger on a river trip that would like more information about rowing and safety
• Anyone looking to develop a foundation in whitewater rowing

Foundations of Whitewater Rescue

This course covers the the key points of whitewater rescue and safety through instructional videos that include real world examples. This course is good for:

• River guides unable to take an in person course
• Members of a river trip who want to learn about safety and rescue
• Whitewater paddlers who want to learn rescue skills at their own pace

Note: An important part of learning rescue skills is hand on practice in the river. If possible please take an in person whitewater rescue course.
